11. Whitewater Scandal

The Whitewater Scandal involved the Clintons and a real estate deal with Jim and Susan McDougal of the Whitewater Development Corporation. An investigation on the land deal exposed several instances of fraud and numerous arrests. There were accusations and investigations into the Clintons, but no evidence against them was found. Susan McDougal was held in contempt of court for refusing to answer questions about Whitewater. She was later pardoned by President Clinton.
