The rough screenplay was completed with the help of Ben Affleck, and the rest is history. Despite the obvious success he would have had at Harvard, Matt Damon dropped out to pursue acting. He actually won an Academy Award (along with Ben Affleck) for Best Original Screenplay for Good Will Hunting.
