Heather Locklear said that she has Native American ancestry through the Lumbee tribe. The Lumbee tribe is not nationally recognized, but it is state recognized. The tribe has stated that they do recognize her as part of the tribe because she has cousins that are currently members and live in their native land. Heather has not applied for membership in the Lumbee tribe, however.
